The Texas Turn and Driving in North Dallas

The Texas Turn and Driving in North Dallas

I just spent a weekend driving all over the North Dallas area; Allen, Carrollton, Dallas, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, and Richardson. I never got mad, didn't flip anyone off, and managed to avoid any accidents and red light cameras. Dazed and mind wondering, I began to take notice of the other cars and drivers...

The Texas Turn -  why do people literally stop in the middle of the turn, and then proceed to hit the gas and go around the corner. I did see two accidents at intersections where the first car, half way through the turn, was hit from behind. I was taught coast into the turn and half way through, accelerate out, not stop-look- go.

Men will drive much slower than woman while talking on the phone and will not use signals when changing lanes on the highway.

Woman will take more chances than men while driving and talking on the phone.

Most female Hummers are "hot", most male Hummer drivers are not.

Why do tall middle age men think they look good stuffed into a two seat sports car with their comb over blowing in the wind like a kite tail?

When you see a car at night driving without headlights, it will most likely be a 25 to 30 year old male.

The heavier the driver, the farther away they will stop from the toll booth or drive up ATM, thereby causing them to open the door, lean out, and drop something.

Woman multi task better than men while driving. They can talk on the phone, drink their coffee, and put on their makeup all the while maintaining the flow of traffic.

I am in favor of the shoulder harness law as applied to women with low cut blouses and big breasts.

Orientals, men or women, driving minivans will not give right of way at an intersection, nor will they move over on a side street, nor will they use their signals.

How dirty a truck is on the outside is directly proportional to the amount of garbage piled between the dash board and windshield.

Are the three girls in the car, each on a cell phone, talking to each other?

Just another day, just another observation.
