All I want is a Bacon Cheeseburger...

All I want is a Bacon Cheeseburger…

A #2 bacon cheeseburger, plain and dry, large fries and a coke. No supersize, no apple pie, no blaster, no kiddie meal. It’s just me, alone, in a car, and I’m hungry. Sounds simple. Is simple.

But why is ordering it at a fast food drive thru nearly impossible? With all the advancements in technology as it relates to web cams, microphones, audio enhancement, surround sound, ear buds, headsets, Bluetooth, voice recognition software, touch screen, voice amplification, and on and on…can somebody please invent a way to understand the order taker at a fast food restaurant.

This is not a question or bash on race, color, religion, ethnicity, or gender preference. After ordering, and actually speaking directly with the person who was just on the other end of the microphone, more often than not, they are very understandable, pleasant, and accommodating.

This is not a question or bash on fast food chain preference. McDonalds, Wendy’s, Whataburger, Jack-in-the-Box, Taco Bell, Arby’s, Sonic and any other you can think of are all guilty.

It is not the weather elements that the equipment is subject to. We have the ability to speak clearly with people in space or underwater, in the tropics or the arctic, or in the desert or the rain forest. You get the idea. People can actually hear me…now.

Maybe the person who did the voice of Miss Othmar, Linus’ teacher, has the worldwide rights to the voice that must come through the speaker?

Maybe we should file a class action anti-trust lawsuit against all the fast food chains for conspiring to always give us a hard time ordering no matter whose product you buy.

Whatever the reason…there has to be a fix. Remember, all I want is a #2 bacon cheeseburger, plain and dry, large fries and a coke.
